The Challenge
Swanage Storage Solutions is a family-run, purpose-built self-storage facility on Prospect Business Park in Swanage. As a brand-new local business, it needed a website that explained what it offered from day one, and showed people in Purbeck who had never rented a storage unit that it was straightforward, secure and close to home.
Its customers have very different needs: a student between terms, a household storing furniture, a business holding tools or stock. The site had to speak to each of them clearly, and make it easy to ask a question or arrange a viewing, which is by appointment.
Our Approach
We designed and built the website and took the photography of the new facility, so that visitors can see exactly what they would be renting. The site runs on Atlas CMS, so the family can edit it themselves. Key features include:
- Separate pages for personal storage and business storage, with further pages for offices and for furniture, student, travelling and tools and equipment storage
- A prices page and an FAQ that answer the questions people ask before they get in touch
- A gallery of photographs of the facility
- A contact form and map, with the opening hours and the viewing-by-appointment arrangement made clear
- Links to the business’s Facebook and Instagram pages
The design is responsive, so it works as well on a phone as on a desktop.
The Results
Swanage Storage Solutions launched with a complete, professional website from the start, giving a new local business a clear presence for personal, business and student customers alike. Customers can browse the options, check prices, read the answers to common questions and get in touch, all on one site. Because the owners edit the content themselves, they can change prices, services and photographs as the business grows.
Long-Term Impact
Built in 2024, the website is how the business introduces itself to the Purbeck community. With Atlas CMS the family can add new types of storage, refresh the gallery or update their prices without a developer.
