Waeco Mobile Solutions was a leading multi-national brand specialising in equipment for the leisure and mobile living market, offering products such as mobile fridges, solar panels, and other innovative solutions for life on the move. In 2007, the company was acquired by Dometic, a global Swedish brand known for its high-quality mobile living technology. Following the acquisition, Waeco’s product range was rebranded under the Dometic name, while retaining the same trusted refrigeration and mobile power systems.
In 2005, Waeco UK approached us to design and develop a new business website for their United Kingdom branch. The aim was to create a modern and professional e-commerce platform that would promote their product range and provide after-sales support tailored to their UK customer base.
Project Brief & Objectives
The brief was to build an e-commerce website with a bespoke content management system and integrated stock and servicing functionality. This included a custom-built system allowing customers to request servicing or repairs for their Waeco products directly via the website, streamlining the support process and improving customer satisfaction.
Design & Features
The Waeco UK website was built using a customised version of our Atlas Content Management System, tailored specifically for their business needs. The platform enabled the in-house team to easily manage their online shop, update product listings, handle orders, and track stock – all through an intuitive, user-friendly interface.
The servicing request system was developed from the ground up to support product serial numbers, warranty checks, and service bookings, creating a seamless customer experience and reducing administrative overhead for the UK team.
Results & Legacy
The new website allowed Waeco UK to establish a stronger digital presence, improve operational efficiency, and provide a comprehensive e-commerce and support platform that reflected their high standards of customer care. Following the acquisition by Dometic, the website was eventually migrated into the parent company’s global web platform, bringing its functionality and branding in line with the new ownership.
