The Challenge
Diane Roberts is a Swanage-based textile artist whose work reflects a lifelong love of the Dorset landscape and coast. She studied painting at college in London and spent a career lecturing locally before turning to the rich, tactile medium of textiles.
Textiles are hard to show online: the texture and the colour are what make them special, so the photography has to be right. Diane also needed a website she could update herself as new pieces were finished, without relying on a developer.
Our Approach
In 2026 we designed and built a new website for Diane on Atlas Lite CMS, and took the photographs of her work ourselves as part of the project. The site is organised around the different kinds of work she makes:
- A gallery and an artwork section for her larger pieces and painted designs
- Separate pages for bags, books, cards, chairs, cushions and throws and shells
- An about page telling the story behind the work, and a contact page
The design is clean and responsive, so that the work, not the interface, is what visitors notice.
The Results
Diane now has a website that shows the full range of her work, from textiles to painted designs, in a layout that works on desktops, tablets and phones. Because it runs on Atlas CMS she can add new work and update pages herself.
Long-Term Impact
The site was built with the future in mind. Online sales through a bespoke gallery system are planned as the next stage, and because the website already uses our CMS, that can be added without starting again.
